Monday to Friday: four elapsed days or five business days?
A date interval and an inclusive count of working dates use different conventions. This site includes both endpoints when counting a business-day range.

2026-10-19 is a Monday and 2026-10-23 is a Friday. With Saturday and Sunday off and no additional holidays, the business-day count is five. The ordinary date difference is four because it measures the calendar interval rather than listing every included date. Neither result is contradictory once the question is stated clearly.
Adding business days starts after the start date
Adding five business days to 2026-10-19 gives 2026-10-26 under the same weekly schedule. Addition does not count the starting date as the first newly added day. Adding zero returns the original date. That convention differs from inclusive range counting and is important when checking an expected deadline.
Enter the actual holiday calendar
The tool does not automatically load national public holidays. Company closures, local holidays and special working-day overrides must come from the relevant schedule and be entered explicitly. A correct count supports planning and arithmetic checks but does not interpret every legal or contractual deadline rule. Keep the weekly days off and exception dates with the result so another person can reproduce it. The ordinary date and date-addition tools are useful comparisons only when their different conventions are respected.
