Can you enter 90 minutes directly? Duration is not a clock reading
A duration can contain more than fifty-nine minutes. The important distinction is between an amount of time and a time of day.
Time conversion →Normalize the duration
Zero hours, ninety minutes and zero seconds equals 1.5 hours, or 5400 seconds. The converter adds the components directly, so there is no need to rewrite the input as one hour and thirty minutes first. Similarly, 120 seconds describes a valid duration of two minutes; it is not an invalid amount merely because a clock display would roll over.
Use this for accumulated tasks
Three study sessions of forty-five minutes total 135 minutes, which converts to 2.25 hours. If there are breaks between sessions, decide whether the desired total is active study time or the complete elapsed period before adding. The converter cannot infer whether the breaks were meant to count.
Distinguish the other input formats
The start and end fields in the work-hours calculator are 24-hour clock readings, so their minute components must stay between zero and fifty-nine. This converter instead accepts duration quantities. In the speed calculator, pair the duration with its selected unit. A consistent recording format prevents 1.5 hours from being misread as one hour five minutes, and makes totals easier to compare across spreadsheets, timers and reports.
