Can a due-date calculator handle irregular periods?
It can perform the calendar calculation, but correct arithmetic does not make the underlying pregnancy estimate reliable for every cycle.
Due date calculator →The algorithm does not detect your cycle pattern
Entering 2026-02-01 produces 2026-11-08 because the tool always adds 280 days. It does not infer a different ovulation schedule from previous cycles or automatically compensate for irregularity. A next-period prediction from the period calculator is also not a confirmed ovulation date.
Avoid creating false precision with adjustments
Adding or subtracting the difference between a cycle length and a typical cycle can look convincing, but actual ovulation does not always follow that simple pattern. A date of intercourse does not establish an exact conception date either. If the last-period date is uncertain, the resulting due date inherits that uncertainty even when it is displayed as a precise day.
Bring useful information to maternity care
Keep actual period records and existing examination information, noting whether the starting date is known or estimated. Clinical history and ultrasound findings may help establish gestational dating. Interpretation belongs with the maternity-care team rather than a vote among calculator websites. The date-difference tool can compare two proposed dates mathematically, but cannot decide which one is medically appropriate.
