Age at application or age at the deadline? Choose the right reference date
The same person can cross a birthday between submission and an eligibility deadline. Calculate age for the date actually specified.

Someone born on 2008-09-15 is 17 on 2026-09-01 and 18 on 2026-09-30. If an instruction says age as of September 30, using today’s age or the submission-date age may answer the wrong question. The calculator evaluates the end date you enter; it cannot infer which date an organization intended.
Keep three dates separate
Birth date, submission date and eligibility reference date are different pieces of information. They may coincide, but they may also be several weeks apart. Read the official instructions first, then enter the required reference date. The date-addition and business-days tools can help plan document preparation separately without changing the age calculation.
A numerical age does not certify eligibility
An application can also depend on school-year rules, residence, status or special birthday conventions. A completed-years result does not cover those additional conditions. Keep a record of the inputs and the instruction that supplied the reference date so the result can be reviewed. Do not switch reference dates merely to obtain a preferred age. Resolve ambiguous requirements with the responsible organization rather than expecting a general calendar tool to decide them.
